DTF artwork requirements
Transparent backgrounds are required for all DTF artwork. We print the file you submit, including any visible background, edge, or unwanted element.
Which ordering option should I use?
Build Your Gang Sheet: Choose this when you have separate transparent-background PNGs that still need to be arranged and sized.
Upload Your Own: Choose this when you already have one complete, print-ready gang sheet sized to match the sheet option you select.
File setup checklist
- Transparent background required for DTF artwork
- 300 DPI recommended at the final print size
- PNG preferred for individual images; PNG or PDF accepted for completed gang sheets
- Size artwork before ordering and remove unwanted backgrounds, white boxes, guides, and hidden elements
- Check spelling, colors, orientation, and image count before submitting
Artwork Review & Basic Cleanup
The optional $25 service covers one image or design. It includes minor print-prep fixes such as basic background cleanup or resolving small file issues. It does not include custom design, redraws, complex vectorization, major edits, or multiple designs under one fee.
Frequently asked questions
Do you automatically fix my artwork?
No. Unless Artwork Review & Basic Cleanup is added, your file is printed as uploaded. Files with a solid background or non-printable elements may be canceled for store credit.
Can one $25 review cover a full gang sheet?
Only when the gang sheet contains one design to review. If it contains multiple different images, select the number of images you want reviewed; the fee is per image.
What are the standard press instructions?
Press at 300°F for 10 seconds, peel immediately, then repress for 5 seconds with a cover sheet. Heat presses and garments vary, so test before beginning a production run.
How quickly will my order be ready?
See our Shipping and Turnaround page. Production begins after payment and usable artwork are received.
Can JakThread press garments for me?
Trade Print & Press is reserved for print shops and apparel decorators outsourcing production. Please request a quote before sending garments or placing a trade order.
What about sticker artwork?
High-resolution PNG or PDF files are accepted for stickers. Transparent backgrounds are preferred for die-cut shapes. Each $25 sticker artwork review covers one sticker design.
