Upload Tax Exemption Certificate
Have your certificate ready as a PDF or image. You'll submit it through our tax-certificate partner's secure portal.
Before uploading
- Use the same email address as your JakThread customer account so we can match the submission to the correct buyer.
- Prepare a clear, complete resale or exemption certificate showing the business name, applicable state, and required identifying information.
- Select only the states and exemption types actually covered by your documentation.
What happens next?
- Submit your business information and certificate using the upload form.
- We review the documentation and either approve it or request a correction.
- Once approved, the appropriate tax exemption is synced to your Shopify customer account for eligible future purchases.
Important: Uploading a certificate does not instantly remove sales tax. Tax continues to be collected until approval, and exemptions apply only where valid.
